Why remote
monitoring
 matters

When power systems are spread across multiple locations, keeping track of performance, fuel levels, battery conditions, and service schedules can require time-consuming management. Smartcloud gives operators a single view across their entire fleet, providing instant alerts when something needs attention.

ONE INTELLIGENT ECOSYSTEM

CONNECTED FROM ALTERNATOR TO CLOUD

At its simplest, the Mecc Alte Power Ecosystem connects the technologies that generate, control, manage and monitor power enabling them to work intelligently together.

It starts at the alternator, where smart digital AVRs communicate directly with Mecc Alte controllers through Smartlink CANbus. From there, our controllers then coordinate generators, BESS, renewable energy sources and the grid interface, monitoring grid conditions and controlling the switchboard to synchronise, connect or isolate power sources as required.

This connected intelligence extends through to SmartCloud, providing visibility of system operation and performance from wherever it is needed.

Equipment status, active alarms, performance trends, and key parameters, are available all in one place using Smartcloud. The interface is built around all significant indicators, with an overview dashboard which gives users an at-a-glance status across any number of units. A colour-coded map view shows equipment location and condition for geographically dispersed fleets.

Smartcloud can go even further than traditional monitoring platforms by including real-time AVR data for models equipped with the upgraded Mecc Alte S-range AVR. Excitation levels, alarms, and measured values are all visible remotely during operation, bringing alternator diagnostics to the user rather than requiring a site visit.

Users can monitor engine parameters, running hours, fuel and battery condition, and, for emissions-compliant equipment, it is also possible to monitor DEF, ash, and soot levels from the engine ECU.

Compatibility and integration

Smartcloud works with Mecc Alte controllers

All controllers in the range are designed for seamless integration with SmartCloud, enabling advanced monitoring, control and data visibility across a wide range of applications and assets.

The platform supports integration with power generation systems, hybrid solutions and additional fleet equipment, providing a unified view of system performance, alarms and operational data.

Higher-specification models include fully integrated communication capability for direct platform integration. Other models are integration-ready and can be enabled via optional communication accessories, offering flexibility to match different system requirements. Mecc Alte controllers support integration with external devices and systems, ensuring a scalable solution that can evolve with your application.

Connectivity and security

Secure connectivity is handled through Cloudlink, Mecc Alte’s integrated communication system. Cloudlink removes the need for public or static IP addresses and navigates firewalls without manual configuration, simplifying deployment across sites with varying IT infrastructure.

The platform supports GSM, LTE, and wired ethernet connections, and the built-in Data Saver function lets operators tune update rates to match bandwidth availability, whether that’s full broadband, IoT SIM cards, or satellite links.

Smartcloud is hosted on European servers compliant with the latest cybersecurity standards, with multiple security levels, modern encryption between device and server, and unique fingerprint recognition to prevent unauthorised access. User access levels can be configured to control who sees and does what across the platform.

Fleet and asset
management

For operators managing multiple units across multiple locations, Smartcloud provides geolocation tracking, multi-site comparison, and periodic data exports delivered by email in Excel format. Whether managing a single standby generator or a distributed fleet of paralleled units, Smartcloud scales intelligently to match your requirements.

Operational
benefits

When you can see what’s happening across your fleet in real time, maintenance becomes planned rather than reactive. Service teams arrive informed, site visits happen when they’re required, and any potential issues get caught early.
