How it works together – a complete BESS system

BESS comprises of three integrated layers: energy storage (batteries), power conversion (inverter technology) and intelligent control (energy management platform).

The power conversion layer

MP Inverter Range

The MP Inverter Range delivers bidirectional power conversion, transforming stored DC energy into stable AC power whilst managing energy flow, system protection and grid synchronisation. Available from 40 kW to 250 kW per unit and scalable to 2 MW, the range supports flexible deployment across different project requirements. Compatible with various battery voltages (400V to 800V), AC configurations (208V/400V at multiple frequencies) and communication protocols, each installation can be customised to match specific system needs.

Scalability and compatibility is a key consideration, making it possible to design custom BESS architectures without complex engineering.

The integration layer

OEMs can select the Power Components Kit (PCK) for maximum design freedom whilst benefitting from proven component selection, or the fully integrated Power Conversion System (PCS) for accelerated deployment and reduced engineering complexity.

Together, these three layers combined produce the key components of a full functioning BESS system.

Applications

Battery Energy Storage Systems address a broad range of operational requirements across grid support, renewable integration, mobile power and backup applications:

Peak shaving Mobile energy storage systems
Load levelling Microgrid operation
Demand management Grid forming and following
Renewable energy integration (solar, wind)
