Bidirectional Power Conversion

Typically used in battery energy storage systems that require power to flow in both directions – from batteries into the grid during peak demand, and from the grid into batteries during charging. Unlike traditional power conversion that moves in one direction only, our bidirectional inverters manage these flows simultaneously whilst maintaining voltage stability, grid synchronisation and system protection across diverse operating conditions.

Introducing the range

Operating modes and capabilities

The range operates in multiple modes to match diverse application requirements. Grid-forming capability enables independent operation and microgrid support. Grid-following mode maintains synchronisation with existing grid infrastructure. Peak shaving, load levelling, demand management and spinning reserve functions are all supported through the control architecture, allowing a single inverter platform to address multiple operational scenarios.

Configuration and compatibility

Configurability is built into the platform. Battery voltage compatibility spans 400V to 800V, accommodating different battery technologies and system designs. The range supports multiple AC output configurations and frequencies, with CANbus communication as standard. This flexibility allows OEMs to deploy the MP Inverter Range across varied customer requirements.

Power Components Kit (PCK)

Proven component selection of the BESS200 controller and an MP Inverter supplied as a bundled package. OEMs retain full design freedom over system architecture, design, and electrical integration whilst benefitting from pre-matched, tested component combinations.

Power Conversion System (PCS)

A fully integrated plug-and-play power conversion solution. With this power sub-system, OEMs can focus on their system design rather than component integration, with reduced engineering complexity, accelerated deployment and simplified commissioning.
